Xosar, Gaussian Curve and a Stones Throw 20th anniversary showcase are also highlights of the four-day September programme.
The full lineup for the first Sydney edition of the Red Bull Music Academy's Weekender festival has been released.
The Australian branch of the Academy unveiled plans for the four-day event back in April, announcing a show with Flight Facilities and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra at The Domain. Now the complete programme has dropped, with Chicago house hero Larry Heard topping the bill.
RBMA's inaugural Sydney Weekender begins on September 8th with local artist Ta-Ku discussing and screening (m)edian and giving a talk at the Palace Verona Cinema. Later that night, Bok Bok heads up a show at the Oxford Art Factory with locals Marcus Whale, Cliques and KUCKA. On the 9th, Heard discusses his career on floating venue Seadeck, then Gigi Masin, Young Marco and Jonny Nash perform as Gaussian Curve at Bradleys Head Amphitheatre and Peanut Butter Wolf leads a Stones Throw 20th anniversary showcase at Manning Bar.
Following some daytime workshops on the 10th, the Flight Facilities concert commences with support from Frank Booker and Andras Fox in live mode. Later on, Dopplereffekt, Xosar, Lucy Cliché, Dan White and phile also dish out some live techno for 1800-ANALOG at the Marrickville Bowling Club. Things migrate to Carriageworks on September 11th where the "Great Antipodean Reggae Soundsystem Carnival" celebrates soundsystem culture. Larry Heard closes the weekend there, performing as Mr. Fingers for his first ever Australian appearance.
