- The double-LP set, featuring work from ADULT.'s Adam Lee Miller, comes two decades after the group formed.
Motor City electro unit Le Car will get another look on Auto-Reverse, a new set from Clone Classic Cuts.
The group was formed by Adam Lee Miller, who would go on to greater renown with ADULT., as well as Ian Clarke, who has put out records on Interdimensional Transmissions as Perspects. Miller and Clarke met in art school and Clone says Auto-Reverse shows "another side of the Detroit music scene." Le Car had four EPs between 1996 and 1998: Auto-fuel, Auto-graph, Automatic and Auto-motif. Most were released on Monoplaza Record Company, a sub-label of Miller's Ersatz Audio imprint.
Clone explains that the records "are the conceptual link between the Detroit techno scene and the heritage of the automotive city that affected everything that's been going on in [Detroit] for the last four to five decades… where the warm Motown sound could stand for the rise of the city, the city's electro [and] techno movement... can be seen as the (beautiful) reflection of the city's downfall, with Le Car as one understated and important part."
Auto-Reverse will be available next year as a limited edition double LP. The Rotterdam institution has made a t-shirt, and a teaser video, to commemorate the release.
