The release coincides with AFX's first American gig in eight years.
A new Aphex Twin record went on sale at Day For Night festival in Houston, Texas.
Richard D. James played his first US gig since 2008 tonight at the Houston gathering, and the well-loved producer has slipped out a vinyl record to mark the event. The 12-inch is being sold in an unmarked, white sleeve with a center label bearing the AFX, Day For Night and Warp Records logos as well as the inscription "Houston, TX 12.17.16." Pitchforkreports "a rep from the festival has confirmed the record is real."
Earlier this year, AFX released a seven-track EP called Cheetah. He's also set to perform at Field Day 2017 in London as well as Flow Festival in Helsinki and Barcelona's Primavera Sound.
