Their Ewan Pearson-produced debut album will be released in September via etcetc.
Sydney indie group Lost Valentinos have released the details of their forthcoming debut album, Cities of Gold.
The debut made headlines when it was revealed that UK's Ewan Pearson would be lending his hands to the five-piece on production duties, something that has previously proven to be successful for the likes of The Rapture and M83. And with The Guardian recently calling Lost Valentinos sound as "Stone Roses circa Fools Gold crossed with the Armand Van Helden remix of Tori Amos's 'Professional Widow'" we're excited to finally hear it. Recorded in Sydney, and produced in London, Sydney and Berlin over two years, Lost Valentinos' full-length debut follows two EPs and a string of successful singles.
Even if the music isn't your thing, if you happen to live in Australia, you still might be interested in the massive prize that local label etcetc is offering up with the release of the band's debut. Apparently the imprint will be giving away a trip for two to Peru. Exact details of the competition have remained mysteriously concealed, but be sure to keep a look out for any gold coins at any of the group's shows on their Conquistadisco tour. If you find one, enter in the date printed on the back at the group's website, and you should be in the running.
