A new party at Suicide Circus bills Franklin De Costa, Paul Frick, Marc.fm and Dan Curtin as residents.
Freaks, a new Sunday night party in Berlin, will kick off next weekend at Suicide Circus.
The party will present an eclectic mix of house and techno DJs, with an emphasis on quirky deep house artists. Franklin De Costa, Paul Frick, Marc Fm and Dan Curtin have all been billed as residents, and in the next two months Freaks will host DJ sets by Frivolous, S-Max and Barbara Preisinger among others. For DJ Mori's birthday, on February 17th, Freaks will host live performances by Japanese artists Kai and shingo.suwa, as well as DJ sets by Mori and Mary Jane. The following week, Orphik boss Mike Wall will celebrate his birthday at Freaks with fellow techno jocks Pär Grindvik and Staffan Linzatti.
Freaks is organized by Nico Deuster, who also throws Killekill, the Wednesday night party at Berghain Kantine. Killekill is known for its diverse programming policy, booking ambient and experimental artists one week, followed by groovier house and techno DJs the next. Though certainly more dance-oriented than Killekill, Freaks appears to follow a similar aesthetic, booking artists on a typically quiet night of the week.
