- The cosmic experimental trio will release their next full-length this May.
This May, experimental trio Emeralds will return with Does It Look Like I'm Here?, a new full-length on Editions Mego.
The Cleveland-based group are typically known for their soaring, analog drone pieces, as heard on records like Solar Bridge and What Happened. But Does It Look Like I'm Here signals a shift in approach for Emeralds, comprising 12 concise and melodic pieces, only one of which runs past the ten minute mark.
Like much of their previous work, the songs were performed with a combination of analog synthesizers, guitar synthesizers and vocals, creating a vivid electro-acoustic sound reminiscent of artists like Christian Fennesz and Tim Hecker. The album features previously unreleased material as well as selections from Emeralds' extremely limited 7-inch series on Wagon, their own record label.
