- Ghostly International will release the American newcomer's first LP in July.
This July, American up-and-comer Seth Haley will release his first album as Com Truise, entitled Galactic Melt.
Haley describes his own sound as "mid-fi synth-wave, slow-motion funk," which just about sums it up. He hasn't released much as Com Truise so far, but he's still managed to pique the interest of some influential labels, including Ghostly International (who reissued his debut EP and are putting out his album) and Walt Disney Records, who tapped him for a remix on Tron: Legacy R3C0NF1GUR3D. Galactic Melt has a cinematic side too: Haley calls it a "sort of film score" for the life and times of his made up alter ego, Com Truise, "the world's first synthetic/robotic astronaut." Not a surprising theme, given the sci-fi feel of Haley's music.
In anticipation of the album, Ghostly are giving away the track "Polyhurt," which came out this week on Com Truise's Fairlight EP. You can also hear a cut from the album, "Cathode Girls," over on Pitchfork.
