  • UK techno icon Carl Cox will release All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor, his first full-length album in six years, later this summer on his own label, Intec Digital. All Roads will be an expansive affair, with more than 20 new tracks that traverse through techno, house, dubstep and beyond. But perhaps its most unconventional quality is its format: the album will come out in phases via a self-updating USB stick. The USB will be available on August 1st with just a taster of the full release: 12 tracks, including cuts from All Roads, a few B-sides and other material. Then in late September, USB owners will receive a second single along with remixes and video, before Cox beams in the final, complete album on October 17th. A third update, featuring a new single with remixes and a video, will come out later that month. The final phase of the release will be ongoing: USB owners can expect updates with real-time footage of Cox and his band in Australia on his first ever live tour. On top of all that, Cox plans to keep the USB filled with plenty of other goodies—including access to the entire Intec Digital catalog, as well as news and music—throughout this year and into 2012. According to the man himself, "You pay the one price for the one product. And the USB will not only give you the album, but it'll also be your key to everything I do in the next 12 months or so." Intec Digital will begin the multi-phased release of All Roads Lead to the Dancefloor on August 1st, 2011.
