- Completed just after bassist Sean Stewart's death, the Australian group's third album will come out in September.
The third album by HTRK is called Work (work, work), and is due for release in September.
Founded in Melbourne and currently based in London, HTRK (pronounced "hate rock") have a haunting, contemplative sound that's earned them praise from blogs like 20jazzfunkgreats along with mainstream publications like NME. Work (work, work) is their third album, and comes just over year after the suicide of bassist and founding member Sean Stewart. The majority of the record was written by all three members between 2006 and 2010, but production was completed by surviving members Jonnine Standish and Nigel Yang after Stewart's death last March. Like much of their previous work, it's characterized by slow rhythms, erotic lyrics and Standish's gloomy vocals.
Work (work, work) will see release on Ghostly International, Mistletoe and Blast First Petite. You can download one of the tracks, "Et Yr Heart," right now on the band's SoundCloud page.
