  • This fall, Amon Tobin will bring his newest album ISAM to life for audiences at nine shows across North America. Tobin has been producing music since the mid-'90s, when he was known briefly as Cujo. Since then, he's switched to working under his own name, moved to Canada and has become a fixture on the UK's venerable Ninja Tune imprint with a sample-heavy sound that combines elements of drum & bass, jazz and film music. The release of ISAM a few months ago has been supported by a new and wildly-praised live performance that demonstrates "next-level complexity" according to RA's Daniel Petry; whereas previous tours focused on Tobin's skills on the decks, this ISAM performance has the producer performing live from within a shape-shifting, three-dimensional art installation. The tour's first US stop will be in Seattle at the end of September, where Tobin will headline the Decibel Festival. A pair of California appearances (San Francisco and Los Angeles) will lead the way east later in October, with stops in Denver and Chicago before the tour's two Canada performances in Toronto and Montreal. The lone stop in the US northeast is in New York, before the tour winds down over Halloween weekend in Asheville, North Carolina for Moog Fest. Tobin's recent set of live shows in Europe sold out quickly, so fans in the US and Canada should be on the look-out for upcoming ticket sales for this tour.
