- Six years since it launched, the UK label has put together a retrospective compilation.
To mark its 50th release, UK label Ramp Recordings has put together a retrospective compilation that's due out next month.
Described by RA's Jordan Rothlein as a "hotbed of low-end weirdness," Ramp has spent the past six years charting the outer regions of bass music—juke, post-dubstep, experimental hip-hop, and so on, though titles like these rarely do the records justice. The label has highlighted square peg artists like SBTRKT, FaltyDL, Dro Carey and Zomby, who released some of his early singles through the main imprint and Brainmath, one of its three subsidiaries (which has a collection of its own coming up). The upcoming compilation looks back on Ramp's catalog so far, with 17 of the tracks that have made it a label of note today.
