- The Berlin-based producer will release his first album in February on his own label, Retrofit.
Jay Shepheard will release his first album in early 2013.
Entitled Home & Garden, the LP will be the first full-length both for Shepheard himself and for his label, Retrofit, which he launched in 2010. Since he debuted five years ago, the UK-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer has homed in on a style of deep house that's sunny, understated and slightly disco-flavored. He explores this sound more deeply than ever on Home & Garden, which is about evenly split between club-friendly cuts and easy-going slow-burners that plod along somewhere in the 105 BPM region. All of the songs on the album are previously unreleased.
