The Chilean producer's fifth album will arrive through Visionquest in June.
Dinky has announced details of her fifth album, Dimension D.
The LP, which took nearly three years to complete, sees Alejandra Iglesias assume the role of singer/songwriter. It will be released through Visionquest, the label jointly run by Lee Curtiss, Ryan Crosson, Seth Troxler and Shaun Reeves. "I wanted to take my music to a new level, detach myself from the rules of dance music and submerge myself in fantasy," Dinky explains. "During the last few years I have been studying jazz, classical guitar and piano, [and] trained in singing to perfect my own style of performing and songwriting."
Iglesias says she used the guitar regularly (and in a "mainly unconventional way") throughout the album, which was co-produced and mixed by Matthew Styles, who will perform live with Dinky in a series of dates across the summer. She says she sought inspiration from surf music—"especially the dreamy guitar tone that resembles the sea waves"—and nature, specifically "the sea, insects, forest and animals." Dimension D will be the second full-length release on Visionquest this year, following Footprintz's Escape Yourself in March.
