- With no prior fanfare, the Philadelphia duo's first full-length was released this week.
Metasplice have released their debut album, Infratracts, through Morphosis's Morphine Records.
As Juno Plus report, the LP was released this week with little in the way of promotion. Kenneth_Lay and V. Hold debuted their noise-soaked techno project last year with two low-key releases—a limited cassette-only outing on Injections Limited and the Topographical Interference 12-inch on Morphine. The two EPs outlined the Metasplice sound: a chugging, distorted slant on techno that has parallels with the uncompromising work of Container and Hieroglyphic Being.
The duo kicked off 2013 with another 12-inch on Morphine, Decant/Churn. In recent times Kenneth_Lay has earned plaudits for this work with Jason Carr as _moonraker, with the recent M Type EP for Great Circles set to be followed by a 12-inch for The Trilogy Tapes. For an idea of what to expect from Infratracts, head over to the Metasplice SoundCloud page to listen to album track "Prismatic Sway" in full.
