- The Italian techno producer is preparing a three-part EP series featuring remixes from Milton Bradley, Claudio Fabrianesi and Voices From The Lake.
Rome's Fabrizio Lapiana has announced initial details for a new record trilogy on his recently reconfigured label Attic Music.
Over the past half-decade, Attic Music has been the primary outlet for Lapiana's dark and dubby techno tracks. (Tuned-in fans might also be familiar with the more subdued sounds of his relatively recent Sustain project.) An assortment of other artists, mostly hailing from Italy, have contributed to the label as well, like Donato Dozzy and DJ Say, who collaborated on a well-received record back in 2010. Now, after five years of operation, Lapiana is ushering in a new phase for the label, with a fresh visual identity created by the designer Fabio Milito, a new system of catalog numbers starting over at ATTIC001, and a three-part series of EPs called Antimatter.
Chatting recently with RA, Lapiana says each Antimatter EP will feature two of his own tracks and a B-side remix, and they'll come on vinyl and digital formats. Exact release dates and a couple track titles are still TBA, but first up and due out around the end of this month is Antimatter1, which will have Berlin fixture Milton Bradley on remix duties. The second record, with a rework from Claudio Fabrianesi, will follow a few months later, and the trilogy is set to conclude near the end of the year with Antimatter3. One of Lapiana's efforts on that release will be an ambient version of a track from his Escape EP, put out last summer, which will then be remixed by Dozzy and Neel (the latter of whom also does some mastering work for the label) as Voices from the Lake.
