- The London darkwave band will release their debut album through ATP next month.
Eaux will drop their debut LP Plastics on June 9th.
The London-based band of Ben Crook, Sian Ahern and Stephen Warrington formed back in 2012, inspired by the rhythmic drive of techno. Their own music, however, is said to be more dynamic and spontaneous ("a heavily analogue approach to everything they do [puts] a very human face to this machine-made music," says a press release). Their songs developed from live jams with hand-triggered drum machines and other live elements (as well as Ahern's vocals), and the lyrics are inspired by classic sci-fi writers and their views of the future.
"There’s perhaps a reaction going on against a more digital-based way of doing things," Crook is quoted as saying, "but by having Sian playing drum machines and physically engaging with them, rather than just pressing play and stop it means there is always room for experimentation and improvisation."
Plastics will come through ATP. Check out a video for opener "Head" below.
