- The Sudanese-born artist will release his new album on September 1st.
Afrobeat influenced pop auteur Sinkane will release his new album Mean Love via City Slang and DFA on September 1st.
Sinkane, born Ahmed Gallab, says the new record draws from the hodgepodge of influences which inform the musical tradition of his native Sudan. He describes Mean Love as "very dramatic, very romantic, and very groovy at the same time." The multi-instrumentalist now resides in Brooklyn and has performed as a live member of Caribou and Of Montreal.
Gallab is currently touring with the Atomic Bomb Band, a group which plays the music of anachronistic Nigerian musician William Onyeabor and includes fellow DFA-affiliated musicians Alexis Taylor (of Hot Chip) and Pat Mahoney (of LCD Soundsystem and Museum of Love).
