- Gilles Aiken's second album will arrive on double-vinyl in September.
The second album from Edward, real name Gilles Aiken, will arrive in September on Giegling.
Aiken says the inspiration for Into A Better Future came from listening to punk, wave and new age music from the early '70s through mid-'80s, including acts like Amon Düül II, Moebius and Kitaro.
He adds: "I think starting point for the album was a remix I did for Conny Plank. The original material was so full of wonderful elements that gave me a much brighter perspective on my way to work with electronic music. So the next step was clear to me."
Into A Better Future will land on double-vinyl format via Giegling, the Weimar-based label that revolves around a tight-knit coterie of artists like Traumprinz, Vril and Matthias Reiling. Though he's put out several records on Giegling, Aiken is also a key part of Oskar Offermann's WHITE label, which released his 2012 debut album, Teupitz.
