- The 2013 recordings from the Italian duo and Austrian experimentalist will be released in June.
Fennesz and OZmotic's AirEffect will be released on the Folk Wisdom imprint in June.
The conceptual project revolves around the conceit of the AirEffect, a "black box" lost in the Anthropocene era. As participants in the project, Turin duo OZmotic and Fennesz crafted an imagined primordial music combining jazz, electronics, field recordings and experimental techniques. OZmotic member Stanislao Lesnoj handled sax, soundscapes and electronics with his bandmate SmZ on drums and electronics. Fennesz used his traditional guitar and electronics setup for the recordings.
The project was inspired by the short film La Jetée and promises to transport the listener back to the Anthropocene era using a "perfectly timed fractal logic of entirety and self-repetition." The recordings were made in June 2013 and integrate field recordings from around Turin.
