14 European clubs will each curate a Friday night at the rooftop venue from May through August.
Le Sucre has announced the details of its summer schedule.
Opened in 2013 by the team behind Nuits Sonores festival, Le Sucre is a key player in the French club circuit. For its 2016 summer schedule, the rooftop venue will launch several new event series. Starting on Friday, May 20th, Trans Europe Express will see 14 other European clubs each curate a Friday night at the club.
First up is Roman Flügel and Oliver Hafenbauer, who will represent Frankfurt club Robert Johnson. Paris's Rex Club and Belgrade's Drugstore will follow on May 27th and June 3rd respectively, before Levon Vincent stops by on June 10th—he'll play alongside AYBEE for London club Oval Space.
In July, Berlin clubs Tresor and ://about blank will take control on the 1st and the 22nd, before Salon des Amateurs brings Helena Hauff, Lena Willikens and Tolouse Low Trax on the 29th. Paris's Concrete and Istanbul's Minimüzikhol follow in August, and then Barcelona's Nitsa wraps everything up with Dj Fra, JMII, Pablo Bolivar and Lord Of The Isles on August 26th.
In addition, Le Sucre will also showcase global sounds every Saturday. Highlights include Awesome Tapes From Africa (May 21st), Joakim (May 28th), Mehmet Aslan (July 2nd), Harvey Sutherland (July 16th) and DJ Marfox (July 23rd). Lyon artists will also be given a summer slot, with the venue dedicating every Thursday from July 14th through August 25th to the local scene. Labels and collectives like CLFT, BFDM, Moonrise Hill Material, Groovedge, Palma, Chez Emile and Macadam Mambo will all be represented. The Thursday night events will be free.
