- Modern Methods For Ancient Rituals was "recorded in a remote English rural setting over a period of 24 hours."
Surgeon, real name Anthony Child, has a new collaborative project.
The Transcendence Orchestra is a collaboration with Daniel Bean, a DJ and producer involved in London's Bleep43 parties. The pair, who have known each other for more than ten years, combines synthesis with acoustic instrumentation on Modern Methods For Ancient Rituals, a six-track album "recorded in a remote English rural setting over a period of 24 hours."
A range of equipment was used, including a Buchla synth, bass guitar and an Electro-Harmonix 45000 Looper Pedal. The LP lands in December through Editions Mego, the label that released Child's Electronic Recordings From Maui Jungle series. Stream samples over at the label's site.
This news follows the announcement of Multiples, a new live collaboration between Child and Speedy J.
