  • Berlin-based artist Pooja B has curated an 11-track compilation to raise funds for Indian charities that are helping Covid-19 patients. Out now, We The People features artists with Indian heritage who reside outside the South Asian nation. Spanning house, dub techno, downtempo and industrial, the album includes offerings from Nikki Nair, Pooja B, Snad, Low Volume, PKO, VANDANA and Stof, among others. All proceeds from sales are shared among six Indian organisations that work with individuals and families impacted by the pandemic. They include Milaap, which supports Mumbai's transgender community, and the Protsahan India Foundation, which provides aid for children orphaned due to Covid. "It's not been easy for many of us from India to sit in our privileged position, while friends and family are in the midst of this horrible second wave of the pandemic," Pooja B said in a statement. "I put together this compilation as music is the best way we as artists can urgently amplify and support India's desperate need for help, whilst being far away." Listen to the compilation.
