Club To Club is a three day, three night electronic music and contemporary arts festival that primarily takes place across clubs and venues in Turin, Italy from November 8-10, 2007. The night programme features DJs, livesets and video installations while the daytime schedule explores the relationship between electronic music and digital arts with workshops, discussions and multimedia exhibitions.
This year's festival is focused on experimental electronics with live PAs from Vladislav Delay, William Basinski, Clodagh Simonds' project Fovea Hex as well as a rare DJ set from Mika Vainio from Pan Sonic planned. But there's also plenty of out-and-out club action with Jeff Mills, Akufen, Troy Pierce, Digitalism, Stefan Goldmann, Onur Özer, D-I-R-T-Y Sound System, Kalabrese, Tobi Neumann, Seph and Italian techno giant Mauro Picotto on the bill. An additional international guest will also be announced a few days before the event.
On Friday night, Club To Club will also simultaneously take place in Turin and Barcelona. Italian artists will perform at the the Catalan capital's Razzamatazz complex alongside Chicago legend Green Velvet with live video streams from participating venues in Turin beamed in.
Highlights of the afternoon programme include a discussion of the role of netlabels and blogs in electronic music, a workshop and installation by students from Milan’s IED Sound Design school and a showing of QOOB's electronic music DVD series 'Tech Stuff', which includes an interview with Karlheinz Stockhausen.
Already in Turin? This Friday, French technoist Agoria spins at the Jam Club while on Saturday locals Ale Di Maggio and Patrick Di Stefano perform at FNAC de Le Gru and Fluido as part of the festival appetiser Viva Club To Club.
