- A well-executed fusion of classical-sounding strings and club sounds.
- New York's Escaflowne is a producer of many talents. From pulverising UK garage to elegant electro, the Sorry Records and Haus of Altr affiliate knows how to speak to dancers. "String Ting," off an EP he released for his birthday, shows off this range. It's rooted in euphoric house with poignant keys and strings, but the hushed kick drums suggest whiffs of a rolling techno bassline. Later in the track, the strings are cut up and inserted between claps to trance-inspired effect. Charmingly unpredictable yet easy to get lost in, "String Ting" encapsulates the kind of genre fusion we've come to expect from Escaflowne.
