- TNGHT go bonkers on one of their best tracks yet.
- You would be forgiven for thinking the first 30 seconds "Brick Figures" were Autechre. So begins the latest TNGHT single: a spasm of metallic whirrs alien synth with an icy beauty unlike anything else in Hudson Mohawke and Lunice's weighty boom-bap catalogue. Sure enough, one of the duo's trademark lopsided beats swoops in, making for one of their weirdest bangers yet, with a kick pattern that feels dizzy, almost nauseous, like it might tip over at any second. The sound design is crazy, the beat undeniable, the tension between drops undeniable. It's part of LuckyMe's cherished annual advent calendar, but don't mistake "Brick Figures" for some B-side. It's one of the best TNGHT tracks yet.
