  • Inspired by the concept of saudade—feeling of nostalgia and longing that characterises bossa nova—Brussels-based duo Tapioca concoct an album of tropical-tinged soul. Their dulcet Portuguese lyrics feel bittersweet and wistful, but the mood doesn't get too melancholic as the jazzy beats whip up a blissful groove. "Maracuja" in particular, stands out for its vintage-sounding synth lines that add a hearty dose of space-age boogie to its R&B backdrop. Its ability to exude heavy emotions while keeping the vibe loose and light is what we all need on a bad day.
